‘Housemate’ is an 11”x14” original linocut matted to 16”x20”. The linocut depicts a small spider hanging from an orchid. This piece was inspired by a yellow sac spider who lived in one of my orchids over a winter. She kept to herself and was generally a great roommate! The spider learned my watering routines and climbed out of her nest when needed. She found her own way come spring but she left an impression on me.
‘Housemate’ is a limited edition of 50 prints. Each print is numbered, titled, and signed.
Linocut is a form of printmaking. Each original print starts from hand-carved linoleum that is then inked and hand-printed. Every print in an edition will have slight variations from the next. These unique marks are a result of the hand-printing process and are not a defect of the print but a celebration of hand-made art!
